William Daniel Hala
William Daniel Hala was born on July 7, 2001, in Akron, Ohio to Daniel and Bethany Hala. He was soon joined by his younger sister Susan Hala in 2004. His family spent a few years in Ohio, before moving to the Outer Banks in NC, in 2006. Will grew up surrounded by a loving and close community, and had more friends than he could count.
He filled his youthful days with sports of all kinds, whether it was on the diamond, on the court, or on the football field. He loved nothing more than a beach day, skimming away the hours with his best buddies. He and his dad, Dan shared many a memory on the baseball field, while Dan was his baseball coach. Will had a gifted intelligence. When it came to academics, he was a natural. He went to First Flight Middle School, and First Flight High School, and then graduated in 2019. Later that year, he attended North Carolina State University, where he majored in Sport Management. Will graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management in May of 2022. In his early twenties, Will found a love for the game of golf, and, most recently, travel and live music.
He is survived by his father Daniel, his mother Bethany, his sister Susan, his grandmothers Joyce Hala, and Susan Ireland, his uncles Robert Hala (Marie), David Hala (Donna), and aunts Courtney Dallmann (Doug), Ashley Ireland (John Lewis), and cousins, Shannon Zottoli (Luciano), Katelyn Hala, Gwendolyn Dallmann, Timothy Dallmann, Reed Dallmann, and Evelyn Dallmann.
The celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at First Flight High School (100 Veterans Drive, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948), at 2pm in the auditorium. The reception will immediately follow the service on-site, in the rotunda. In lieu of flowers, as Will loved his childhood dogs, and was hoping to adopt soon, please send all donations to SPCA at www.obxspca.org. The address is 378 Airport Rd., Manteo, NC 27954.

there are no words that can sum up what a great human being Will was, but i’ll give it my best shot. working alongside Will for the last few years, i’ve known him to be reliable and hardworking. but (in and) outside of work, he was such an incredibly silly, pleasant human being to be around. i always knew i was going to have a good time when he was around. this past week has been so hard without you, Will. your energy is something that cannot ever be replaced. i will forever miss breaking out into song with you, joking around with you, spending time with you. . i miss you so much . . we have not stopped thinking about you here in Raleigh . . my deepest condolences to the Hala family, and everyone that knew him at OBX . .
I am truly at a loss of words that will make sense. Our entire family will keep you in our thoughts and pray you are some how able to find the strength in the impossible. Will was the kindest of souls and we be missed by all who had the benefit of knowing him.

Sorry for your loss. Our condolences and prayers. My wife Rene’ and I met the family and William while he was a roommate with our son Justin at NC State University. He was a well respected young man with a gracious personality.
Will was more than someone I worked with, he was my friend. To know, talk, and laugh with him was to love him. His laid back personality was a literal “chill pill” to anyone around him. After a long night at work.. singing, laughing, and smiling were the cure and he was the facilitator of a night to remember; there were lots. He was an exceptional conversationalist, an avid sports fan, and the friend of a lifetime. I can’t express how much you are loved and missed Will. I hope the day should never come where all the memories start to fade, but please know, the love will forever stay.
