William “Bill” R. Tomlinson, Jr

Kitty Hawk- William “Bill” R. Tomlinson, Jr., 61, passed away Wednesday night, December 19th, in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Bill was a SP5 Sergeant in the U. S. Army for 7 years working as a Medical Specialist.

After his honorable discharge, Bill worked several years at the Veterans Administration in San Francisco. Then, upon returning to his  Washington, D. C. home, Bill worked for National Geographic and spent 18 years as Building Manager at the IRS Headquarters on Constitution Ave.

Bill is survived by his wife, Margo Alifano, his son and daughter, William Tomlinson III, and Mychelle Schafstall, their spouses, Laura Tomlinson and Justin Schafstall, and his beloved grandchildren, Jewel  and Ava Tomlinson and Eliza and Talan Schafstall. In April, 2007, Bill  retired from the IRS and moved to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina to enjoy his cherished home on a canal.

A memorial service will be held this summer in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
