  1. Fly was a very kind and respectful man , always. We met at Timmons in 1972 and remained lifelong best of friends for 53 years. We were like brothers. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. I love you man and will be with you one day, forever, in Heaven. May God Bless your soul.

I made many trips to Urbana with her when the house on Urbana Creek was still being finished. Of course, I knew Rhoads as Tinner’s “little brother” whom we gave endless grief…naturally! Webster Rhoads Lee, Jr

Webster Rhoads Lee, Jr., 72, of Manteo, passed away August 26, 2025. Rhoads was born February 27,1953 in Richmond VA to the late Webster and Dorothy Lee. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel Anna Lee.

Rhoads is survived by his wife of 35 years, Maryellen; and their beloved son, Isaac; his loving sister, Tinner Weston (Bruce); and his adoring niece, Sarah Nadeau (Damien) of Urbanna, VA.

Rhoads attended high school at George Wythe of Richmond, VA. Prior to moving to the Outer Banks with the dream of working at Jeannette’s Pier. Rhoads enjoyed a career as a surveyor with J.K. Timmons of Richmond and then worked for Bruce Howard contracting in Charles City, VA where he enjoyed wonderful work associates, professional acquaintances, and lasting friendships.

Known to many as “Fly” he embraced the value of being gracious and kind. Rhoads was an active and selfless father supporting his son Isaac in his passions for outdoors, the woods, hunting, fishing, the love for nature, plants, animals, the water and boating.

A gathering to honor Rhoads will be held 2-5pm on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Jeannette’s Pier in Nags Head. In lieu of flowers, Rhoads’ family requests that donations be made to Dare County Adult Services – Social Services Division. A special thank you to the county aids.
