Tracy June Goode
Tracy June Goode, loving daughter, niece, sister, and mother, passed on from this world on May 05, 2023, at the young age of 51.
Tracy was born on April 3, 1972, to Steven Goode (Maureen) and Glenda Duke (Billy) in Richmond, VA where she was raised, helped raise her brother, Scott Mitchell (Gary), and continued living until she found her true calling to the Outer Banks. She was enticed by the sunny beaches, lured by the music and lifestyle, and loved the locals. Tracy was infectiously happy, unapologetically blunt, and wanted to help whoever she could however she could. These are traits she has passed down to her surviving children; Allison, Haley, and Heather Winfree.
Tracy is also survived by her aunt, Joan Poskey (Mike); and brothers, Brent and Tyler Goode. She was preceded in death by her grandmother June Satterfield and grandfather Lesley Goode.
A celebration of life is being planned for family and for friends and will be posted at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to one of the nonprofit groups listed at https://www.12keysrehab.com/nonprofits-that-support-addiction-awareness-and-recovery/
Please share condolences with the family at gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
Condolences
Glenda,I am so sorry for your loss. I haven’t seen her or you since she was little. But I remember she was such a sweet little girl. I will be keeping you in my prayers. Karen Roberson Gunn
You will be missed by everyone, we love you.
Tracy, cousin, it's been a long time, but when I heard about your passing all these memories from my childhood came flooding back. Hanging out with you while our parents hung out. Playing games, watching TV, just stuff. Those memories make me smile. Thank you for those times. I hope you have found peace. I love you.
A little late hearing the news of Tracy's passing, but heartbroken nonetheless for all that loved her. We became instant friends the first time we met, like we'd known each other forever. Over the years our paths didn't cross as often, but she remained a true friend, with that smile and heart of gold. Love to the family ❤️
Tracy had a magic personality that infected everyone that passed by her space in this world. I first met Tracy working at Western Sizzlin in Kill Devil Hills NC. The first time i saw Tracy I fell in love with her personality and I fell in love with her. You couldn't be sad or stressed out when Tracy was around because she wouldn't let you she would stop whatever she was doing and make sure your problems were solved before she went back to whatever she was doing. Her smile could light up the darkest room or bring light to the darkest day. If anybody and I mean anybody needed anything she would give it to them if she had it and if she didn't she would find a way to work it out. Tracy always put everybody else first before she thought of herself. Tracy opened up her home to anyone that needed a place to stay and never turned anyone away. If you ask any local outer banker and I mean the real locals where to go if your in trouble and they would tell you to go see Tracy. Tracy never judged anyone and treated everyone with the same respect and love that she gave her own children. Throughout all the years I knew Tracy I had the privilege of meeting her family her mom and brother mostly and the little amount of time I spent with them I got to see where Tracy got her giving nature. I can't count the times Tracy saved me from all kinds of problems from helping me buy a scooter to keeping me from homelessness countless times to signing her home over to a bondsman to get me out of jail. The world has lost its magic for me and we have all lost the most beautiful ,caring ,bright ,loving happy soul that it was my most beautiful honor to know as my friend. I miss you so much and I will always love you. Sincerely Erin Ricketts
Tracy will be always loved and forever missed by so many. My condolences to her family and her daughters. If it wasn't for Tracy and Gerald (G) me and my husband Erin (Bud) would have never met and shared 19 years together !!!! We owe her so much!!!! A beautiful person and soul......Tracy was such an amazing friend. Everytime I found a good serving job I called Tracy so we could work together because she was so fun to work with and always made me laugh....Rip my angel, fly high......
Tracy was a very special person in this world. My heart & thoughts go out to all of her loved ones. She was one of those rare people who touched the hearts of everyone who came to know her. I always enjoyed talking with her & her great sense of humor. She will be missed….
