Thomas A. Irwin
Nags Head, NC- Thomas A. Irwin, age 77 died May 16, 2012 at Colony Ridge Hospital of a short illness.
Tom is survived by his best friend and companion Pauline Dizinno of Nags Head, North Carolina, his son Gary Irwin, his wife Laurie Ann, two granddaughters Lindsey and Shanna of Landing, New Jersey, sister Barbara Irwin of Stanhope, New Jersey and former wife Gloria Smith of Wharton, New Jersey.
He worked for Jersey Central Power and Light for over 40 years. After retirement, Tom tended bar at Kennedy’s in Budd Lake, New Jersey. He was a life member of the Stanhope-Netcong American Legion Ambulance Squad. He was a former commodore of the Budd Lake-Musconetcong Yacht Association. He was a member of the Eastern Iceboat and Yacht Association and that is where he was an award winning ice boat racer. He was a former special police officer in Stanhope, New Jersey. Tom spent two years in the U.S. Army Signal Corp.
The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Stanhope-Netcong Ambulance Squad. Plans for the funeral and burial are pending in New Jersey.
