  3. Theresa was one of my closest and best friends for over 50 years. We were Navy wifes and spent a lot of time without our husbands on six month cruises. Our kids introduced us when we were living in the same neighborhood when they were around six years old. We have remained best friends ever sense that time. We shared good times and bad times together. I will truely miss her every day

Theresa R. Carter

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa Rose-Ann Carter on July 3, 2025 at the age of 77 at her Grandy, NC residence. Theresa was born August 29, 1947 in Bennington, Vermont to Helen Louise McLean and William Edward McLean-both deceased.

Theresa met the love of her life, David Carter and the couple married in June of 1995. David preceded her in death several years ago. Theresa was known for her strong will, unwavering determination and love and support for her family, friends, and community. She was a member of Jarvisburg Church of Christ where she devoted her life to Christ. Theresa worked for the Ford Motors plant for many years where she was an excellent cook.

After her retirement, Theresa volunteered her time with the Meals on Wheels nutrition program. Theresa enjoyed cruising with her dear friend Linda Settle and spending time with her other close friends, Sheila, Tom and Connie and her beloved friends, Donella and John who have both passed away.

Theresa is survived by her four children, Loria Weidner (Richard, JR) of Chesapeake, VA,  Lisa Biggs (Ronnie) of Grandy, NC, Jay Bushee of Rockingham, NC, Kevin Bushee (Bridget) of Virginia Beach, VA. Also surviving are grandchildren, Adam Nowitzky (Maggie) of Virginia Beach, VA, Josh Bushee (Tati) of Grandy, NC,  Daniel Biggs (Dana) of Grandy, NC, Brittney Bushee of Smithfield, VA,  Keri Grandy (Danny) of Grandy, NC, Savanah Rodriguez (Raymond), Virginia Beach, VA,  Hunter Bushee (Katlyn)  of Ellerbe, NC, and Logan Weidner (Yenifer)  of Columbia, South America. Also surviving are several great-grandchildren: Gracie, Ashtyn, Sawyer, Aurora, Brynnlee, Lucas, Hasley, Blake and Noah; one sister, Marie McLean, and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family is honoring Theresa’s specific request for simple cremation. In lieu of flowers, please send love and prayers to the family during this difficult time. Expressions of sympathy and a fond memory may be shared with the family at gallopfuneralservices.com . Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
