Santo John Battaglia

Manteo – Santo John Battaglia, 89, of Manteo NC was the beloved husband of Arlene Battaglia, his wife of 57 years, and was called home on June 19, 2018.

Sam was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and son. In addition to his wife of 57 years, he will forever be loved and missed by his two daughters, Debbie Hillard (husband Jeff Hillard) of Falls Church and Laurie Battaglia (husband David Gary) of Nags Head; his grandchildren, Nicholas and Cailey Hillard; sisters Vincenzina Larko and Sister Bernadette Pauline Battaglia and many nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his brother Joseph Battaglia, brother-in-law Richard Larko and sister-in-law Dolores Cook.

Santo was born to Concettina and Salvatore Battaglia on April 11, 1929 and raised in Carnegie PA. He graduated from New Brighton High School and subsequently proudly served in the United States Air Force.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Monday, June 25th at 1:00 PM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Nags Head. Friends and family will be welcomed
