Marvin H. Breiholz, Jr.

Colington – Marvin H. Breiholz, Jr., 63, passed away December 29, 2013 after a brief illness at Norfolk Sentara. Marvin was born October 31, 1950 in Memphis Tennessee.

Marvin and his family moved to the Outer Banks in 1978 because of his love of outdoors, fishing and surfing. He was a self employed carpenter and a member of the Crooked Hooks Surf Fishing Team. He will be remembered for his zest of life and the relationships he built over the years he lived on the Outer Banks.

He was predeceased by his parents, Marvin and Elsie Breiholz, his sister Bonnie Akers and brother George.

Marvin is survived by his former wife and best friend, Becky Breiholz of Kill Devil Hills, one brother, Ricky of Virginia Beach, two sons, Brian (Leanne) of Wilson and Jason (Elaine) of Kill Devil Hills, four grandchildren, Tess, Joel, Curren and Kyler, one nephew, Ricky Akers of Currituck and many friends he made along his life journey.

A celebration of life will be held at 3pm, Friday January 3, 2014 at the Kitty Hawk Pier House with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marvin’s name can be made to the Atlantic Surfing Federation at 505 Quail Lane, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948 or to the NC Beach Buggy Association at PO Box 189, Nags Head, NC 27959.
