Marian C. Ashton
Marian C. Ashton, 84, of Elizabeth City, NC, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026.
Marian was born in New York, New York on May 10, 1941, the oldest of four children to Joseph and Bertha Mincieli. She attended high school in New York City. Marian married Richard Cirillo on September 6, 1958. Together they had four children. In 1994, she married Burton Ashton in St. Augustine, Florida.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Burton Ashton.
Marian is survived by her four children, Karen Cirillo of Aydlett, Donna Cirillo Corbo (Kenneth) of Currituck, Richard Cirillo (Treasure) of Locust Grove, Georgia, and Michael Cirillo of Europe. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kristy Corbo Ryan (Joseph), Michael Strocchi (Emma), Anthony Corbo (Abigail), Emmanuella Cirillo, Richard Cirillo, Carmine Cirillo, and Michael Cirillo; and bonus granddaughter, Brittany McManemy (Gregg); great grandchildren, William Ryan and Gabriel Ryan, and bonus great grandson, Pete McManemy.
Marian is also survived by siblings, John Minicieli (Rebecca), Joan Alia (Joe), and Laura Lynch (Paul); and several nieces and nephews and friends from Jacksonville/St. Augustine, Florida.
Marian loved her children, was an avid reader, loved to travel, her passion was shopping and was the bingo queen among her friends! She held several different jobs; however, she was most passionate when she worked with the Sisters of St. Joseph in St. Augustine, Florida as a fundraiser.
Marian’s family would like to thank Brookdale’s Memory Care Unit for loving her and Albemarle Hospice for the respect and dignity they bestowed on her until the end.
A funeral Mass will be on March 6, 2026, 2pm at St Katharine Drexel, Maple, NC The family will receive friends after the Mass in the church lobby. Please share condolences with the family at gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
