Lori Ann Sellers Herbin

February 12, 2026

Lori Ann Sellers Herbin peacefully passed away on February 12, 2026. She was born December 20, 1970 in Wilmington, Delaware but spent most of her life in Outer Banks. She had a way of lighting up every room that she entered. Though her light has now dimmed, the warmth she shared will never be forgotten. Her witty, snarky humor was always meant in kindness. She found so much joy in cooking and hosting parties. Sunday fundays were her specialty- especially during the football season since she was an avid Cowboys fan.

The hospitality business came naturally to Lori. She often joked she was forced into child labor at the age of 14. Lori worked at many locations such as Lance’s Seafood, Seascape, Slammin Sammys, Mulligans, and Awful Arthurs. Her loyal customers took her abuse and many followed her from place to place because she took very good care of them. Lori also loved to travel. She took a cross country road trip with friends after graduating from Manteo High School in 1988. She was always ready for adventure as she traveled to many islands and countries.

Lori is survived by her mother, Mary Ann Szymanski Newman and her father, David Sellers (Monica); her twin sister, Jenifer Roe (Blair); her sister, Amy Zielinski (Mike); her beloved nephews, Marshall and Hayden Roe and Seamus, Brendan, and Rohan Zeilinski; her maternal grandfather, Ed “Pop” Szymanski; her aunts and uncles who were more like siblings to her; Linda, Kathy, Eddie, Susie, Maureen, Timmy, Stevie, Beth, Luci and Lee Sellers; and many other family members and friends. To say she will be missed is an understatement.

Lori was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Susanne “Granny” Szymanski as well as her paternal grandparents, Jesse and Jean Sellers, and the love of her life, Buddy Toler.

A celebration of Lori’s life is planned for Saturday April 18, 2026 from 2 pm to 6 pm at the Old Nags Head Cove Clubhouse. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lori’s honor to the Outer Banks Relief Foundation 103 E. 8th St. Nags Head NC, 27959. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.gallopfuneralservices.com . Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
