Laura Grace O’Shaughnessy

Kitty Hawk, N.C.—Laura Grace O’Shaughnessy died Saturday October 11, 2008 after a brave battle with cancer. She was born in Brooklyn, New York April 19, 1942. Laura was the daughter of the late Bernard and Grace Laura Meaney of New York.

Laura Grace O’Shaughnessy resided with her husband of 28 years in Kitty Hawk after retiring from a nursing career that spanned over 40 years of service.  For the past several years, Laura enjoyed volunteering her time at the Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head.

Left to cherish the memories of Laura Grace O’Shaughnessy is her husband Raymond O’Shaughnessy of the Kitty Hawk residence, two sons, Patrick Lyons of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania and Michael Lyons and wife Heidi of Mt. Joy, PA; two daughters, Kelly Ann Baretto of Strasburg, PA and Meghan O’Shaughnessy of Lancaster, PA, one sister, Mary Larkin of New Hampton, NY and one brother Mark Meaney of Pawling, NY; seven grandchildren Kaitlyn Lyons, Cassidy Lyons, Casey Lyons, Michael Lyons, Kristina Lyons, Nicholas Baretto and Marlee Baretto; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and treasured friends.

The family will hold a memorial service Saturday November 1, 2008 in Lancaster, PA. Condolences to the family may be sent via the on-line register at www.gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. Nags Head was entrusted with arrangements.
