Larry Wayne Jordan

Larry Wayne Jordan, 64 of Kitty Hawk, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 peacefully at home after a quick bout with cancer.

Larry was born on December 30, 1947 in Chowan Country. He was the son of Marguerite Cook Fearing, originally of Elizabeth City now residing in Kill Devil Hills, and the late Harry Lester Jordan.

Larry served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era in Germany. He moved to the Outer Banks from Elizabeth City in the early eighties and held numerous jobs in construction and surveying. He worked for Charter Communications until 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Ward; a brother-in-law Larry Chapman; a step son Larry Baldwin; his daughter Kelly Germino and husband, Mike and granddaughter Abby Germino ; four brothers, Al Jordan and wife Jean, of Ruskin Park, Florida; Rusty Jordan and wife Elizabeth of Fletcher, NC; Danny Jordan and wife Sophie of Aydlett, NC; and Craig Fearing and wife Judith of Nags Head, NC; two step sisters, Anna Joyce McPherson and husband John, Linda McClintock and husband Richard both of Elizabeth City; and a host of nieces , nephews, and dear friends.

A celebration of life will be held upstairs at the Black Pelican in Kitty Hawk on October 27th from 3:00 until 5:00 pm.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff of Community Home Care and Hospice for their loving care, expertise, and encouragement. Memorial donations may be made to this wonderful organization at 491 Williamson Rd., Suite 204, Mooresville, NC 28117.
