Justin Brown

Point Harbor- Justin Brown, 28 died unexpectedly from complications due to Muscular Dystrophy. Justin was born in Fairfax, VA and raised in Nokesville, VA. In the 1990’s the family moved to Point Harbor, NC where Justin graduated from Currituck County High School.

A faithful and active member of Powell’s Point Christian Church, Justin participated in numerous church functions, including The Youth Ministry and Life Line Missions. Justin thrived in the Life Line Haiti Mission where he was instrumental in providing humanitarian assistance to Haitians. Justin also served his country and faith in Samaritans Purse Missions in Klin, Mississippi, Nashville, Tennessee and Wilson North Carolina.

In his spare time, Justin loved sports and was a five time gold medal Special Olympian in basketball, bowling, and volleyball events. He was also a fervent Redskins, Tar Heels and NASCAR fan.

Surviving Justin Brown are his parents, Tom and Gail Brown of Point Harbor; his brother Jonathan Brown of Point Harbor; his grandmother Hilde Brown of North Augusta SC; three uncles, Manny Brown (Betty) of Wilmington, NC, Charles Lee (Jill) of Triangle, VA, and Mike Lee also of Triangle, VA.; his Special Olympics family; his church family; numerous extended family members, and cherished friends.

The funeral will take place Friday, September 28, 11am at Powell’s Point Christian Church. A viewing will be from 9 -11am at church. The interment will follow the funeral service, in the church cemetery. Pastor Keith Hamm officiating.
