John D. “Jack” Cooper, Jr.

November 3, 2025

John Duffield “Jack” Cooper, Jr. went to Our Lord on November 3, 2025, in Nags Head, NC. He was born in Little Rock, AR October 22, 1935. Jack was predeceased by his parents, John Duffield Cooper and Gladys Harper Cooper and by his beloved wife Isabel Cooper.

His memorial service will be held in the chapel at St. Andrews By-the-Sea on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.  Jack is survived by three sons, Bill Dismore (Linda) of New Kent, VA, Mark Dismore (Kathy) of Jasper, AR and John D. Cooper, III (Cathy) of Clermont, GA. He also leaves behind six grandchildren; Brian Dismore, Melissa Robillard, Lauren Senese, Mitchell Dismore, Nicole Whitehead and Makensie Cooper; as well as 11 great-grandchildren; Ashley, Nicholas, Madison, Macy, Isabel, Peyton, Giada, River, Amelia, Cooper and Colby. Also surviving is Jack’s brother, Ernest Harper Cooper.

A private interment with full US Navy military honors will be held at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are gratefully welcomed at St. Andrew’s By-the-Sea, P.O. Box 445, Nags Head, NC, telephone (252) 441-5382. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the Cooper family at gallopfuneralservices.com.  Gallop Funeral Services was entrusted with arrangements.
