James C. Scandlin, Jr.

January 14, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, James C. Scandlin, Jr., who departed this life on January 14, 2026 at the age of 92, surrounded by his family. James Scandlin left behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew them.

Born on the 26th of May 1933 in Philadelphia, PA, James was the beloved child of the late James C. Scandlin, Sr. and Adele Klein Scandlin. He was also preceded in death by Joan Scandlin, his wife of over seventy years. James grew up in Hatboro, Pennsylvania, then built a home in Warminster, PA where he raised his family.  He loved his family and built a beautiful garden. Many of our home memories are having fun in the garden and trips to the beach. He put himself through some college and built a successful business after retirement in Lakeland, Florida. Jim was an astute salesman in the food industry and will be missed as he was always offering a helping hand and an encouraging word.

Jim is survived by his daughter and son, Susan Reynolds (Roger Huffman), and James W. Scandlin (Janice); his grandsons, Chris and Mike Reynolds, and his five great grandsons. He had dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.

A service celebrating James’ life will be held graveside, 11am, January 22, 2026 at Hatboro Cemetery, 36 Fulmor Ave, Hatboro, PA 19040. A reception will follow at 1pm at Vereinigung Erzgebirge, 130 Davisville Road, Warminster, PA.  All who knew and loved James or his family are welcome to attend and honor his life.

Dad will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May he rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or an Organization of your choice in James’s memory. Please share expressions of sympathy with the family at www.gallopfuneralservices.com.  Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with local arrangements.
