  2. Dar, Jess, Chris, family and friends. Greg was a good man … a loyal husband and a loving father. Praying that healing energy wraps you in it’s warm embrace bringing peace to your broken hearts. Much love to you all ❤️

  3. Dear Darlene and family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I know how you took care of Greg and your devotion to his care. He is with our Heavenly Father now. God give you peace and surround you with love. KP

  4. I worked at Wahoo Seafood since I was 17 years old. We were packing fish one night, and we seriously needed more help, when Greg walked in. The boss introduced him and he went right to work. I knew immediately we had a good one. Now if we could just keep him, because the work was brutal and LONG hours. We became best friends, and worked there together until the business close permanently. We were literally the last two employees. Greg could fix anything. We had equipment that we had built, or came from government surplus, or something else and we jury- rigged it to meet the needs of a very tough environment. At the worse times something would go wrong and we all scream, “GREG!” Baling wire, hose clamps, duct tape, miscellaneous parts, you name it, and Greg would get it going again. I loved him like a brother and miss the conversations about everything we used to have.

  5. So sorry for the loss of a special man to many. I pray for and send my love to all his family and friends!🙏❤️

  6. My love and healing prayers continue for you…. The journey in grief is not easy but I know the love of friends and family guides and comforts. I am glad I knew Greg and witnessed the love he gave to you…and still does. That is forever present. ❤️

  7. Deepest Heartfelt Condolences 🙏 Much Love and Prayers to You All ❤️ I’ve known ya’ll forever and Love Ya’ll Deeply ❤️

Gregory James Anderson

November 4, 2024

Gregory James Anderson, 69, beloved husband, father, and brother left his Earthly home on Nov 4, 2024. He joins many loved ones in heaven including; his parents, Fredrick Carol Anderson and Carol Fletcher Anderson both of South Dakota; two brothers, Mike and David; and one sister, Tracey.

Gregory is survived by his wife of 45 years Darlene Anderson, daughter Jessica Duffy (Mike), and son Christopher Lawrance (Jennifer). Also surviving are five grandchildren: Kaya, Schuyler, Shane, Aurora, and Patty; brother Jeff Anderson (Emily); sister Karyne Danaus (Julie); aunt, Rosemary Karlan and several nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.

He was born at Ellsworth AFB on June 15,1955 and spent the majority of his childhood in South Dakota. After high school Greg joined the US Army and served his country honorably. He eventually made his way to North Carolina and became a waterman in Stumpy Point where he worked and made life-long friends there, and throughout Dare County. After 30 years on the sea or running a fish house Greg and Darlene moved to Engelhard where they fell in love with the quiet countryside.

He then began long haul trucking, and eventually retired in 2016 as a correctional officer for the Hyde County prison system. Greg was always the first to help anyone and could solve any problem put before him. He had a passion for knowledge and never stopped learning. No service is planned at this time. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Please share a message of hope at gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services was entrusted with arrangements.
