Elmer William Seuffert

Southern Shores- Elmer William Seuffert, long time resident of Kitty Hawk, NC, passed away at home on Monday, November 10, 2008.  He was born on January 14, 1923 in Essex County New Jersey. Elmer was the son of the late William and Lena Seuffert and the brother of the late Arthur Seuffert.

Elmer was a devoted husband of nearly sixty years who will be remembered as someone who was ready to help anyone in need, as much as he could. He also enjoyed playing cards. Elmer and his beloved wife May retired to Southern Shores after a successful career as a manager in the tool and die industry in New Jersey. Elmer served the Southern Shores Volunteer Fire Department faithfully for over 20 years.

Left to cherish Elmer’s memory is his wife May of the Southern Shores residence; one sister Ruth Horvath and husband Frank of Pompano Beach, Florida; two sisters-in-law Margie Schneider and Dorothy Ehresman; a host of nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be forwarded to the Southern Shores Volunteer Fire Department, the American Cancer Society, and/or Dare County Home Heath and Hospice.
