Dorothy Jane Hotaling

Kill Devil Hills- Dorothy Jane Hotaling, age 61, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday evening, August 22, 2012 with her loving family at her side. She was born in North Tonawanda, New York and lived in the North until her retirement years. Dottie, as she was known to family and friends, moved to North Carolina three years ago to be near her children and grandchildren. She lived with her daughter Rosanne Sanderlin and son-in-law Pat in Kill Devil Hills, and they cared for her during her illness as she battled lung cancer and COPD. Dottie will be remembered as a caring, compassionate person who enjoyed life. She was especially fond of her bingo buddies.

Dottie leaves to cherish her memory two children, Rosanne Marie Sanderlin and Ronald Doyl Mongold; two brothers Ward Mongold and Edward Mongold; a sister Rhonda Gardener; and six grandchildren: Zackery Sanderlin, Joshua Sanderlin, Alexis Mongold, Emilee Mongold, Bella Mongold, and Chance Mongold.

A private memorial service will be arranged by the family at a later date. The family of Dorothy Hotaling wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dare County Hospice for their support, kindness and excellent care during the past few weeks.
