David H. Sadler

December 9, 2025

Moyock – With heavy hearts, we share that our father, David H. Sadler, 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Moyock, North Carolina, on December 9, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two sisters, Sybil Tripp (Jesse) and Phyllis Hoggard (Duke).

Born on April 1, 1942, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, David was the son of Herman and Minnie (Collier) Sadler. He grew up with a strong work ethic, a gentle spirit, and a deep love for family- values that carried him through every season of his life.

David dedicated 50 years to the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where he took great pride in his work and the friendships he built along the way. His loyalty, craftsmanship, and quiet strength left a lasting mark on all who had the privilege of working beside him.

David is survived by his four children, Dava (Eric) Dreibelbis, Amanda Sadler, Emily (Chris) Strohm and Kenneth (Lindsey) Sadler. He was a loving and devoted grandfather to nine grandchildren: Donya, Dylan and Davyn Dreibelbis, Cyris and Phebe Davis, and Kora Hoover, Freya and Sadie Strohm. He is also survived by several nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will always cherish his memory.

A celebration of life will be held at Riverview Centre on January 3, 2026 from 1pm-5pm located at 103 Watson Rd, Chesapeake, VA 23320

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor David’s life by extending an act of kindness to someone in need – something he quietly lived out throughout his own life.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.

Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. has been entrusted with the arrangements. Friends and loved ones are invited to share expressions of sympathy with the family, at gallopfuneralservices.com.
