Brian Davis Rudo

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Brian Davis Rudo, born on November 17, 1948, who passed away on January 26, 2025. Brian was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Brian proudly served his country as a Navy Seaman aboard the USS Boxer during the Vietnam War. His dedication to service and love for his country were defining aspects of his character. He carried the lessons of his military service with him throughout his life, and his courage and commitment will never be forgotten.
Brian is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Betsy Lee Rudo; his two daughters, Tina and Traci; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his siblings: three sisters and two brothers. He was always putting family first and leaving a lasting impact on each of them.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Rudo; stepmother, Marylyn Rudo; mother, Ida Perry; stepfather, George Perry Senior; and sister, Nadine Cluniey. While their absence is felt deeply, Brian’s family finds comfort in their shared love and memories.
Known for his infectious sense of humor, Brian was always ready with a joke to brighten the room and make everyone laugh. He had a unique way of making those around him feel at ease, and his lighthearted spirit brought joy to countless moments. Brian’s laughter will be remembered as one of his greatest gifts, whether it was a funny story, a playful quip, or a well-timed joke.
In addition to his humor, Brian was a man of kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family. He lived a life full of love, laughter, and service to others, and his legacy will continue through the generations he leaves behind.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be held at Coinjock Baptist Church in Coinjock, North Carolina, on April 5 at 2:00 pm.
Brian’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, Brian. You will be loved and missed forever, and your jokes and service to our country will never be forgotten.

Frank and I send our sympathy to Brian's Family. He was a good friend of the many that he knew and worked with in the Bureau of Engineering and socially. He helped us with a mastery of Geographic Information Systems and a mastery of respect and care for all the people he met.
Brian was a real sweetheart and a good man. It was a pleasure to have known him. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
I worked with Brian for many years in Howard County's DPW, Bureau of Engineering. Brian was upbeat and kind. He always had many stories about his family that he would share with a sparkle of pride and love in his eyes. My sincere condolences to his loved ones.
I'll always recall Brian fondly. He helped me generously with the civil engineering projects we worked on together. He always lightened the mood in our little group.
We were sadden to here of Brian's passing. Our prayers are for Betsy and the family.
To Brian's Family and his many friends, I will greatly miss Brian. We shared many good times together! We were especially close as my maiden name was Rudo as well. He always called me "Cousin". My heart goes out to all of those who knew and cared about Brian. He will be sorely missed! Marshall
When Jim and I moved to Church’s Island on Waterlily Rd., Brian was one of the first to stop and welcome us. He and Betsy immediately became best friends to us. Many nights were spent having dinner at each others house and playing cards. As much as a joker as Brian was, he didn’t like to loose at cards. He had a game plan every hand and didn’t loose very often. I’ve missed those times together since Jim and I moved, but we have a lot of great memories! Love you Brian!
