Betty Joyce Bell

Betty Joyce Bell, age 90, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025. Born on August 16, 1935, Betty lived a full and meaningful life dedicated to her family, faith, and community. She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Fox, Jr.; her beloved daughter, Jocelyn Cherie Fox; her granddaughter, Rose Massuh; her brother, Floyd Nichols; sisters, Judith McBeth and Diane Galiley; and second husband, Edward W. Bell.

She is survived by her children, Michelle Fox, Michael Bell, Dana Bell Summerell (Jimmie), and Scott Bell (Barbara); and her cherished grandchildren: Kate Dart (Beau), Christina Massuh, Chantal Massuh, Robert Massuh Jr. (Nana), Patrick Bell (Kara), Ryan Bell (Jennifer), Tara Summerell Walker (Rodney), and Jimmie Summerell Jr. Betty’s legacy continues through her nine great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.

A retired legal secretary and devoted homemaker, Betty also found purpose and fellowship as a member of Colington Methodist Church. Above all, she treasured time with her family, especially gatherings with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her kindness, strength, and love will be remembered always by those who knew her.

The funeral will be held at Colington United Methodist Church Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at noon. Friends may gather to greet the family and view one hour prior. Pastor Jack Colenda will officiate. Following the funeral, Betty’s directives for the private burial of her cremated remains will be honored. Please share a message of comfort at gallopfuneralservices.com.
