Alberta H. Staab
Kill Devil Hills- Alberta H. (“Abby”) Staab, 58, passed away in her home on Tuesday, August 19, 2008. She is survived by one son, George M. Staab, with whom she resided in Colington Harbour, Kill Devil Hills. Abby is also survived by two sisters, Susan H. Eisel and Luann H. Mason, both of whom reside in Kill Devil Hills; five nephews, James Paul Eisel and Timothy George Stovash, of Pennsylvania, Robert Allen Laitinen, William Albert Alvarado and Eric Rolando Alvarado of Kill Devil Hills; and one niece, Kathryn (Kate) Hope McAdoo of Virginia.
Abby was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Staab; her parents, Paul J. Roeschenthaler and Alberta H. Roeschenthaler; and a sister, Judith Ann Stovash.
Abby touched the lives of many children as a Foster Mother in Butler, Pennsylvania before she moved to North Carolina. Her passions in life included her family, gardening and cooking. Abby could prepare almost any meal you could desire. From high school, when she won the Betty Crocker Homemaker Award to the numerous culinary wins at assorted County Fairs, her love and enjoyment of cooking were obvious to all. The family will sorely miss the wonderful creations that came from her kitchen.
The family will hold a memorial service at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes to Abby may be made to Dare Home Health and Hospice at 109 Exeter Street, Manteo, North Carolina.
