Judy Marie Potter
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held on Saturday, September 20th, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Poplar Branch Baptist Church, 709 Poplar Branch Rd. Grandy, NC. The memorial service will be followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall, where we’ll gather to share stories, laughter, and a meal in her memory.
The meal will be catered, so we kindly ask that you RSVP to help us plan accordingly. You may RSVP by contacting (931)572-4792.
Please feel free to extend this invitation to anyone whose life was touched by Judy. We look forward to coming together in love, remembrance, and gratitude for the time we were blessed to spend with her.
Judy M. Potter was gently called home in Elizabeth City, NC August 2, 2025 after 74 years in this world. She was preceded in death by her husband and very recently by her son, Thomas “TJ” Potter. Mrs. Potter lived in Grandy for many years and enjoyed taking care of her customers at Walmart. Her survivors include her son, Richard of Currituck; her daughter, Froanie of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren and numerous other relatives and family friends.
The family is honoring Mrs. Potter’s personal directives for cremation and plans for her celebration of life gathering will be announced in the near future. Please read the full obituary and share expressions of support with the family via the online register at www.gallopfuneralservices.com.

Judy was a one of a kind lady, loved to laugh and loved to sing. She was a reincarnated Patsy Cline, she sang like an angel, I wish I had known she wasn't well I would love to have reminisced with her one more time about our good ole days at the Sea Ranch with my Husband Jack!!! Fly Hi Judy, tell Buzz hello for me and if you see my Jack tell him I Miss Him!!!!

Ms Judy helped us taking care of our kids. She was incredibly patient with them and we couldn’t have anyone better. The kids loved her too. It was nice seeing her at Walmart and would always ask about the kids. Prayers and condolences to her family.

Our little band of Salem Road "rough necks" are surely leaving this realm of existence for the next. I am so very sorry to hear of her passing. She's already singing in her new life. I know it.
