  1. I worked with Nancy at Artic Express. She was there for me when I went through breast cancer in 1997. Her amazing humor got me through it. I remember the Friday after work when we went to the Roadhouse for a few “refreshing beverages” and sitting at the bar was Bill. They connected immediately, she found her soulmate. We had nicknames, mine jimmy sue and hers, Nancy Lou. Love you Nance

Nancy Williamson Sartin

Kill Devil Hills – Nancy Williamson Sartin, 65, passed away peacefully at home October 10, 2024, after her battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born August 16, 1959 in Gahanna, Ohio to the late Wilton and Melba Williamson. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband William “Bill” Bergner.

Nancy was a beloved daughter, mother, sister and friend. She had an unwavering passion for cooking, crafting, jeeping on the beach, and adult beverages.

Nancy is survived by her sons, Bret Bergner (Renee) and Kevin Bergner (Joy); sister, Sue Alkire (John); grandchildren, and Aidan and Bella Bergner. She also leaves behind multiple nieces, and countless friends that adored her.

As there are so many special friends, the family would like you to know if you are reading this you were an important part of Nancy’s life. Nancy’s warmth, kindness and love for life will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be remembered for the way she made others feel, valued and loved. Her legacy lives on in the beautiful memories she leaves behind.

A celebration of life will be held at 2pm, Friday, October 18, 2024 at the family house. Nancy’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Adoration Hospice for the extraordinary care, kindness and support which meant the world to Nancy and her loved ones.
