  3. Daniel & family, I am so heartbroken by your loss, I just adored Edie, I am just in shock here. God bless your family!

  4. So saddened to hear this news. Edie was a great friend to many. She never met a stranger or someone who she wouldn’t help in any way she could. I will cherish the memories of you forever.

  5. My first and best memory of Edie is when she showed me love by offering me a seasoning packet of Cincinnati chili. It was the first night I had been welcomed into her home during a small group. I knew no one and was recovering from a divorce and past traumas. I was searching for family among strangers. I have a feeling she sensed that because she made every effort to make me feel comfortable, and as our conversation continued it landed on Cincinnati and chili and so she graciously offered me that small treasure. We didn’t share many encounters, but the ones we shared were always with a warm embrace and beautiful smile. I’m so sorry for your loss and this world’s loss, but she is definitely a treasure that heaven gained.

  6. Daniel and family, my heart and prayers go out to you all. So sorry for your loss.

  7. My heart is just so broken. Daniel & kids, you know I love you all so very much. So many many memories of living on the farm with you all and the great times there. Edie Sue Parsons

July 2, 2023

Edie Sue Parsons, of Kill Devil Hills, found her eternal rest July 2, 2023 in Chesapeake, VA engulfed in the light and adoration of those she loved most. Edie was 58. Her immediate surviving family members include her devoted husband, Daniel Parsons; her four precious children Devin Parsons(Ashley), Noah Parsons, Timothy Parsons and Sara Rogers(Luke); her three dear grandchildren, Jacob, Brailyn and Nola, and her dear sister Nancy Bradley(Greg) and dear sister-in-law Tammy O’Bleness. Edie also leaves behind countless loving relatives, in-laws, extended family members, loyal friends, and her work and church families.

Hebrews 12:1-2 (NASB20) 1 Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let’s rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Edie, we celebrate you, and we know that you are a part of that great cloud of witnesses, still cheering us on!Anyone who has had the honor and joy of knowing Edie knows that she lived her life through the precious love of Jesus, full of faith. She worshipped Jesus with all her heart, soul and strength. He poured His love into her, and without a thought, she poured into others with passion. A quiet warrior with a true servant’s heart, Edie was always praying for those she loved, and all people she encountered. She carried Jesus wherever she went.

Edie would walk into a room and the atmosphere would change. Her face shone bright and her smile was full of welcoming compassion. Her laugh was contagious.

Edie was… real. Humble, approachable and kind.

Her loved ones often observed this compassion and joy she had for people as she knew no strangers. They graciously shared her as she touched lives ranging from folks in the grocery store, coffee shop, and post office to friends and family near and far.

At the center of her devotion was her family. Edie lived her life as the best wife, mother, Nana and sister to her precious family…her treasured husband, her precious children and grandchildren, and a sister who was so special to her. They were all her favorite. She loved to spend time with them as much as she could. Riding bikes with Daniel, beach time, driving the kids wherever they needed to go, homeschooling…each minute was an act of love. She truly enjoyed life with her loved ones and held that same devotion for her extended family. Edie has left a legacy of love.

Daniel and Edie exemplified a loving marriage, committed in covenant love through all of life. Any of life’s curveballs only strengthened them. Edie and Daniel were one in the Lord. They fought for others marriages. They contended together for the faith.

We are thankful Edie shared her generous heart and soul. She wanted nothing less than God’s best for anyone she met, planting seeds of life in everyone she encountered. Though she is not with us physically, those seeds are growing and will continue to grow through the Lord as a testimony of her faith. She opened her heart and her home to anyone in need of that genuine Jesus love. Well done good and faithful servant. Edie was a true peacemaker, and she has received her unfading crown of glory.

Romans 10:15 “How beautiful the feet of those proclaiming good tidings of peace, of those proclaiming good tidings of the good things!”

In accordance with her wishes- Edie’s funeral and burial were private. Please share condolences with the family at gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services was entrusted with arrangements.
