Marjorie Sayre Wallwork

Southern Shores – Marjorie Sayre Wallwork, 95, formerly of Sea Girt, NJ succumbed to a brief illness Thursday September 12, 2013 in Nags Head.

She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Dudley Sayre and the wife of the late A. Eugene Wallwork. Marjorie was also predeceased by her sisters, Natalie and Dorothy, and her brother Dudley.

Marjorie relocated to Southern Shores twelve years ago from Sea Girt, NJ where she served as President of Point Pleasant Hospital Guild, a Brownie leader, and a faithful member of the Altar Guild at St. Uriel Archangel Episcopal Church .

Since moving to the Outer Banks Marjorie continued serving others and joined the All Saints Episcopal Altar Guild. She also volunteered at the Hotline Pink store in Kitty Hawk. No matter what was going on, she always had a smile to share.

Surviving Marjorie are four daughters; Betsy Shea and husband Dr. Chris Shea of the Southern Shores residence, Barbara Reynolds (Bill), Susan Harlick, and Laurie Mason (Tony), all of Florida. Also surviving, are five grandchildren; Kim Wingard (Rich), Fletcher Reynolds (Fran), Elizabeth Teeter (Michael), Joseph Ferruggiaro (Mary) and Anthony Ferruggiaro (Trish); 12 great- grandchildren, Richard, Kristin, Fletcher, Blake, Beau, Nicholas, Courtney, Payton, Shiloh, Marjorie, Michael and Ryan, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will dearly miss their “Aunt Chippy’s” presence in their lives.

The family is especially thankful to Marjorie’s All Saints Church family, her Hot Line Pink family, her loving caregiver Maggie Sanders also good friends, Joyce Meiggs and Etta Thorpe

A memorial service will be held Monday October 14, 2013 at 10 am at All Saints Episcopal Church . Father Tom Wilson will officiate. Friends may gather with the family at church following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully suggests that memorial gifts be made to Outer Banks Hotline. Final arrangements were entrusted to Gallop Funeral Services. Condolences to the family may be expressed via the on-line register at www.gallopfuneral.services.com.
