Naomi Pearl Summerell

Colington- Naomi Pearl Summerell, 78, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2012 after a very brief, but courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Norfolk, VA on January 12, 1934, Naomi was predeceased by her husband Joseph E. Summerell, her parents Willie O. Twiford & Pearl H. Twiford, and her sister Nellie T. Perry.

Surviving are her Children; Jimmie (Dana) Summerell of East Lake, Billy (Amanda) Payne of Sandy Ridge, NC, and Norma (Bob) Etheridge of Manteo . Grandchildren; Tara (Rodney) Walker, Buddy Summerell, Chris Payne, and Bobby (Heather) Etheridge. Great-Grandchildren; Brennan & Tristan Walker, Alexis Payne, and Trace & Zach Etheridge, and numerous extended family members & friends.

The funeral will be held Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 2pm at Colington United Methodist Church, with burial immediately following at Austin Cemetery in Kitty Hawk. Visitation will be held at the church 1 hour prior to the service. The Reverend Teresa Holloway will be the officiant and the eulogist will be the Reverend Robert Pitsch.
