Joan Louise Stettler

January 16, 2014

Kitty Hawk-Joan Louise Stettler, a woman of tremendous courage and class, died peacefully at home with her daughter by her side on Saturday. She lived in New Mexico for 20 years, then moved to the Outer Banks to be closer to family – and in pursuit of the perfect crab cake.

She is survived by three daughters; Deborah Hannan of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Valerie Wood Lewis (Michael) of Burlington, Vermont and Stephanie Ihle (Larry) of Nags Head, North Carolina as well as her beloved cat, Thumper.

No plans for a formal memorial service are planned at this time, however a celebration of her life will continue every day with dancing, travel, beach time and good food – with the knowledge that she is embarking on another adventure about to start.

Memorial contributions are welcome to Dare Home Health and Hospice.
Online condolences may be shared with the family via gallopfuneralservices.com in Nags Head. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
