Robert (Bob) Felick

Kill Devil Hills – Robert (Bob) Felick was born on February 20, 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and left this earth on October 14, 2014 at his home in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. His parents were Frances Kims and Walter Felick, and he had one sister, Lorraine J. Shay, all deceased. He married Marian Korta in 1950, and they shared a happy and fulfilled life for 55 years until her passing on March 26, 2004. They were best friends who enjoyed life’s beauty as they raised their only daughter, Elaine Felick Robey. They were both actively involved in the raising of their beloved grandchild, Justin Robert Robey, who has recently departed.

Bob proudly served in the Army Air Corp in radar operations during World War II. Upon release, he worked as a watch maker and jeweler by trade in Pittsburgh, PA. In 1992, Bob and Marian relocated to the Outer Banks of North Carolina in order to remain more closely connected to their daughter, Elaine, and their grandson, Justin. Their presence in the lives of both Elaine and Justin will always be considered a genuine blessing.

Bob and Marian shared a love of life’s simple pleasures, gardening and they valued their close connections to family and friends. For many years, Bob shared a passion for ocean fishing with his dear friend, Bob Chambers.

He was a thoughtful person with a very kind heart. His accomplishments include being a devoted son, loving husband, beloved father and grandfather and a valued friend and neighbor to many throughout his lifetime. In his last months, Bob was cared for by his daughter, Elaine, and their friend and devoted nurse, Amy Musil, whose thoughtful care will forever be appreciated.

Bob was a member of the Holy Redeemer by the Sea Catholic Parrish, where a Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. A reception will be held at 5:00 p.m. at the Felick residence.

To the world he was just a man but to us he was the world.
