Jerry Morgan Stott
Point Harbor – Jerry Morgan Stott of Point Harbor NC died November 1, 2014 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Varnell Ralph Morgan and Eufra Simmons Morgan of Rock Hill, SC.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, William C. Stott Jr. and four children, David Stott and his wife Emily of Staunton, VA, William G. Stott and his wife Lorrie, of Spotsylvania, VA, Debra Craine and her husband Carl, of New Orleans, LA, Lisa Funderburk and her husband J.R. of Rock Hill, SC and a brother Harry Morgan of Greensboro, NC.
Jerry enjoyed a lifelong love of music. Jerry gave freely of her musical talent to assist various children and other theatrical groups on a volunteer basis in Norfolk, Roanoke and on the Outer Banks. A lasting memory was the live performance of South Pacific by Theatre of Dare.
She was a active communicant of All Saints Episcopal Church and was an active choir member. She initiated a formal choir at Duck United Methodist Church, and served as choir director and organist for several years. She was asked to fill in as organist at Outer Banks Presbyterian Church in Kills Devil Hills for one Sunday and remained to serve as their interim organist for four years.
She was a founding member of the Outer Banks Chapter CJ of PEO, a national organization. She was also a founding member of the Eastern Carolina Concert Society, serving as its President in its early years. Jerry worked tirelessly to help with the restoration process of The Whalehead Club in Corolla.. Jerry also worked at H&R Block for 32 years, and was an active duplicate bridge player.
A celebration of her life will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church Southern Shores at 4PM Tuesday November 4, 2014.
