Joshua “Josh” G. Hollinger

Kill Devil Hills- Joshua “Josh” G. Hollinger, 41, passed away suddenly on Thursday July 24, 2014 at home in Kill Devil Hills, NC. Josh was a very talented chef and had a true passion for food. He had worked in some of the best restaurants from Maine to Florida. He was working at Tribeca in New York City when the world trade center was attacked. Josh was one of the chefs that fed the rescue workers and was honored to do so.

In his early years he was a merchant marine and loved traveling. Josh wasn’t one to stay in one place very long, but he did keep returning to the Outer Banks.

Josh is survived by his mother, Sherry Brinkman (Charles); his father, Michael Hollinger; three brothers, Kyle Smith (Patty), Alex Smith (Stephanie), and Damon Smith (Marilyn); his grand-parents Gene and Dorthy Hollinger; his beloved, daughter Grace Hollinger; and six nephews. He loved to spend time on the beach with his dogs he will be lovingly missed by all that new him.
