John Joseph Cooney

Kitty Hawk – John Joseph Cooney, 69, beloved husband of Nancy Ellen Horwitz and incredible step-father to Scott David Loube, passed away peacefully the morning of January 8, 2014 after a strong battle with cancer.

John was born in Cleveland Ohio on August 3, 1944 and is survived by his sisters Maueen Nester (Cinn) and Pat Gowan (Clev) and his brother James (Clev) and numerous nephews and nieces.

After a long career with Kimberly-Clark, John and Nancy retired to Kitty Hawk, NC where they have truly enjoyed the camaraderie of their neighbors and the ambiance of the total OBX community.

Everyone who knew John will miss his cheerful, friendly and selfless nature. There will be a February Memorial Mass said for John in Cleveland, OH, plans are pending.
