Geoffrey Smith

Southern Shores- Geoffrey Smith, 66 died Saturday December 11, 2010 in his home after battling cancer. Born in Newark, New Jersey, and raised in Montclair, Geoff was a graduate of North Carolina State University and made a living running his own business Reflections Photocopy in Little Falls, New Jersey. He decided to follow his dream and retired to the Outer Banks in 1992. Shortly after he relocated, Geoff joined the Southern Shores Volunteer Fire Department.

Geoff Smith is survived by his wife of 18 years Ruth Hitchcock Smith of the Southern Shores residence; his son, Scott Smith, his daughters Kara Rogers and Jane Lennon; his two step-children Robin Belk and Richard Cassetta; 7 grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church in Southern Shores on Saturday January 22, 2011 at 3 O’clock in the afternoon. Father Thomas Wilson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, Geoff requested memorial donations to the Southern Shores Volunteer Fire Department. Gallop Funeral Service, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
