Wilton Scott Graham

November 7, 2012

Wilton Scott Graham, 49, of Kill Devil Hills, died peacefully at his home among family, Wednesday, November 7, 2012. He is survived by his wife Tanya Barkley-Graham and son York Barkley Graham.

Scott is also survived by his parents Dougald and Dorothy Graham of Nags Head NC, sister Robin Strocchia and Bob Howard of Bethesda MD, brother Jimmy Graham of Kill Devil Hills NC, brother Mark Graham of Nags Head NC, brother Randy Graham and wife Sandy of Kill Devil Hills NC, sister Sherry Smalley and husband Steve of Kill Devil Hills NC, sister- in- law Veelee Donahue and husband Bill, and nephews Nicholas and Matthew Strocchia, Graham Smalley, and Cristian and Skylar Graham, nieces Chandler and Savanah Smalley, Brittany Graham, and CeeCee Donahue, and his devoted chesapeake bay retriever Rudy.

The Graham family moved to the Outer Banks in the 70’s where Scott thrived as an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He graduated from Manteo High School in 1982 and went on to pursue his dream of being the Captain of his own fishing boat, Captain York, out of Wanchese, NC. Scott was always the life of the party and made friends with anyone he met. He loved to host seafood feasts for his friends and family and always made sure our cups were never empty. He let you know he loved you and wasn’t ashamed to show his love of his fellow man. He was a loving son, husband, father, uncle, brother, and friend and leaves a huge void in the lives of those left behind. We will miss his gentle manner, his wonderful sense of humor, and funny stories. If you ever met Scott, you would remember him. He would have left an impression on your heart and a smile on your face. He has left this earth too soon.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in his memory to Outer Banks Relief Foundation Inc. PO Box 545, Nags Head, NC 27959

A celebration of life will be held at Kitty Hawk Fishing Pier House on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at 2 pm. The service will be followed by a reception at the home, 550 Parkwood Drive, Kill Devil Hills, NC.

Condolences to the family may be expressed via the online register www.gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with the arrangements.
