Grace Eleanor Bane

Colington – Grace Eleanor Bane went to be with the Lord Friday September 19, 2014 in Chesapeake. She was 77. Grace was born October 23, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Gladys Jacobsen. She was also predeceased by her niece Pam.

Grace was a devoted housewife and loving mother. She also cherished her community and volunteer work and was an active parishioner at Holy Redeemer By the Sea.

Grace leaves behind her husband of more than 54 years, Neil Bane of the Colington residence; four children, Aggie (Bill), Colleen (Jack), Patrick (Rosie) and Liam (Wanda); 4 grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Victoria, and Rylee; a sister and brother in law, Marie and Arthur Hunt; her niece Bev as well as numerous friends, neighbors, and her parish family.

Friends and family may view Monday September 22, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at the Gallop Funeral Chapel MP 16 in Nags Head. The funeral mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Parish in Kitty Hawk Tuesday September 23, 2014 at 10 am. A memorial mass and burial will be held in Connecticut at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully suggests directing memorial donations to The Interfaith Community Outreach (ICO) or to The Beach Food Pantry.
