Choyia Dan Womack

Kill Devil Hills- Choyia Dan Womack, 53, of Kill Devil Hills, NC passed away peacefully Sunday, February 1, 2015 at home with his wife Jenny Willis Womack and beloved dog Gibbs by his side.

He was born to the late Mary and Joseph Womack, April 10, 1961 in Norfolk, VA.

Choyia graduated from Currituck County High School in 1979.

He married Jenny Willis in Jamaica in 1998 and they lived happily on the Outer Banks for 17 years until his passing.

Choyia liked to describe himself as a carpenter and “short order cook with flair”, who worked at many well known restaurants on the Outer Banks.

He was a “die hard” Washington Redskins fan and a passionate animal lover. He was generally the life of the party and left a mark on all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his brother; Donald C. Womack and step-father; Bernard “Bunky” Womack.

He is survived by his wife Jenny Willis Womack and his dog Gibbs; brother; Marvin Keith Womack (Sandra) of Chesapeake, VA, one sister; Jodie C. Womack and her companion Eric Caruth of Grandy, NC, and one sister-in-law; Audrey “Nita” Womack of Norfolk, VA.  He is also survived by his nephews; Dylan Womack and Joshua Mangum; and nieces, Kelsey Womack and Stacey Womack Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be mailed to PO Box 876, Kitty Hawk, NC 27949 to offset Choyia’s final expenses. Per Choyia’s wishes, a celebration of his life will be held at a future date.
