Beverly June Oliver

Nags Head – Beverly June Oliver, 86, of Nags Head, NC left this world on October 8, 2014. Her husband James, “Ziggy” (her cat) and friends were with her at the time of her death.

Beverly was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frances and Gustav Volkmann. She survived her parents and four siblings. Her husband James, is the sole surviving immediate family member.

Beverly was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee where she earned a BS Degree in Early Childhood Education which she used for thirty-five years. She taught in school districts such as, California, Wisconsin and Louisiana, before retiring from West Bend, Wisconsin school district in 1989.

Beverly enjoyed Water Aerobics, hiking, traveling, singing, caring for stray animals and being part of supporting Feline Hope, a NO KILL cat shelter. She was an enthusiastic member of the Roanoke Island Garden Club.

She truly loved her friends and neighbors and her favorite song was “As Time Goes By”.

There are no services planned at this time.  In Lieu of flowers, her husband requests that all donations be made to Feline Hope Shelter, P.O. Box 893, Kitty Hawk, NC 27949.
