Bernice “Bea” Runkles Armstrong

Swan Quarter- Bernice “Bea” Runkles Armstrong 56 of Hyde County ,NC entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday September 8, 2012 In Vidant Medical Center Greenville, NC after a long fought battle. “Bea” & “Nanny” as she was affectionately known was born on May 15, 1956 To Lawrence Craighead and Barbara Craighead.

She is survived by One son Bryant Runkles and his wife Rhonda Runkles of Wanchese , 5 grandchildren whom she held very dear to her heart Kayla White , Mason Howell, Bryant Runkles Jr. , Noah Runkles & her “baby girl” Channin Runkles. She is also survived by her mother Barbara Hazen Craighead of Wanchese , 2 Sisters Connie Leary and husband Keith of Chesapeake Va. (Lauren & Jimmy) , Laura Kee and husband Kenny (Lindsey) of Wanchese, 2 brothers Larry Craighead Jr. of Wanchese and Charles Craighead and wife Cindy of Wanchese. She is also survived by her very “Special Friend” Randall McClaude and their beloved dog Rock both of Hyde County. She had a very “Special Sister” Lorenda Lee who she loved as a sister. She was predeceased in death by her father Lawrence Craighead Sr.

There will be a celebration of life for Bea on Wednesday September 12, 2012 at the home of her son Bryant Runkles at 101 Hickman Ln. Wanchese, from 4-8 pm.

The family asks that memorial contributions be directed to her son Bryant Runkles c/o Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. 6917 S. Croatan Hwy. Nags Head, NC 27959, to help pay for her final expenses. We now take comfort in knowing she is free of pain and walking on the streets of Gold.
