Anna Ruegg Pollard

Southern Shores – Anna Ruegg Pollard, 89, of Southern Shores, NC passed away December 29, 2014 after a short illness. Anna was born June 21, 1925 in Meherrin, Va. to Edwin and Minnie Ruegg.
Throughout Anna’s life, she taught Sunday School, collected teapots, enjoyed sports and games, crocheting, painting, Nascar (#3), and spending time with her children, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Anna dedicated her life raising and loving her family. Survivors include: sons Claude G. Pollard, Jr, and wife Linda, Mark E. Pollard and wife Debbie, sister Jean Ruegg Vizthum, brother P. Donald Ruegg. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Claude G. Pollard, Sr., son J. David Pollard, sister Marie Ruegg Hayes, brother Edwin (Bubby) Ruegg, grandson Sean Pollard, great grandchild Olivia Zonis, and her parents Edwin and Minnie Ruegg.

Visitation is 7 – 8:30 pm Friday, January 2, 2015 at Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, Keysville, Va. Funeral Services will be held 10 am Sataurday, January 3, 2015 at Meherrin United Methodist Church, Meherrin, Va. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Meherrin United Methodist Church.
