Lynda Sue Garland

Lynda Sue Garland, 73 of Southern Shores, NC, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on June 19, 2026 in Nags Head, NC. Born February 7, 1953, she was the middle daughter of Kenneth and Francis Alexander who preceded her in death.

Lynda had many roles in her lifetime. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend; but her most gratifying role began when she became a grandmother. Her three grandchildren Jordan, Kaiden and Madison became her entire world. The relationship they shared simply put: irreplaceable.

Lynda was a people person who never met a stranger. To know her was to love her! When she had a moment to spare, you could find her in her sewing room! Her business Sand and Seams Embroidery was something she was very passionate about. She loved creating one- of- a- kind custom pieces for people looking to make memories. Lynda’s impact on this world is and will remain unmatched. She left behind a legacy that will continue to live within her children and grandchildren.

We will endure a lifetime of missing you for the privilege of loving you. This is not goodbye; it’s see you later. Rest easy mama. We got it from here.

Lynda is survived by her husband of 45 years, Charles Garland of the Southern Shores, NC home; her two children, Kenneth Garland (daughter- in -law Tabatha Garland) of Kitty Hawk, NC and Shannon Garland of Southern Shores, NC; her three grandchildren, Jordan, Kaiden and Madison Garland all of Kitty Hawk, NC; her brother, Marc Alexander of Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.

To honor the life of Lynda, a memorial service will be held at Gallop Funeral Chapel in Nags Head, NC Tuesday June 30, 2026 at 3:00 pm est. Pastor R. Heath Jackson will officiate. Please share a message of comfort with the Garland family via the online register at gallopfuneralservices.com.
