I remember all those years at my aunts house with you and your family next door. Tiffany and I playing. Tiffany and I deploying around the same time. Her to Afghanistan and I to Iraq. Thomas Lee Baker

Thomas Lee Baker, 75, peacefully passed away at his home in Moyock, North Carolina, on March 6, 2026. A proud Marine Corps veteran and dedicated public servant, Tom lived a life defined by service, integrity, and devotion to his family.

Born on September 3, 1950 in Fort Wayne, Tom was a longtime resident of Monroe County. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, completing two tours of duty and earning the rank of Sergeant as well as a Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice. After his military service, Tom continued his commitment to community and hard work through a 40-plus-year career with the Bloomington Post Office, where he was known for his reliability, good nature, and dedication to those he served.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Pamela (King) Baker; his daughter Angela Allen and her husband Bruce, along with their children Christopher and his wife Ariana McKillip, Hunter, and Abbigael; his son Clinton Baker and his wife Joanna (Carroll), and their children Kayla and her Husband Michael Matthews, Kacey, Ryder, and Garrett; and his daughter Tiffany Huffman and her husband Jared, with their children Jedrek and Jaxon; his sisters Linda Johnson and Brenda Dempsey; Brothers Lonald Wayne Baker, and Dennis Dean Baker; and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harold Oran and Ardith Fay (Baron) Baker, his brother Ricky Eugene Baker, and his beloved son, Thomas Lee Baker Jr.

A memorial celebration of life will be held this July in Bloomington, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember Tom’s extraordinary life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Tom’s name to the Fisher House Foundation, a charitable organization that provides accommodations for families of veterans receiving medical care.
