Betty Clement Dickerson
On this 15th day of January, 2026, Betty C. Dickerson, has left this Earth for her Heavenly home. Born in Roanoke, VA on February 8, 1928 to the late Clarence J. and Virginia C. Clement, she grew up at the foot of Mill Mountain.
Betty is proceeded in death by her precious infant daughter, Betty L. Cumbie; and five siblings. Jack (Maude) Clement, Ernest (Lelia Ann) Clement, Eugene (Ann) Clement, Barbara (Billy) Bush, Sara Prillaman (Don).
Lovingly, she is survived by her most caring family; children, Eric Dickerson and Dawn Taylor both of Avon; grandchildren, Brandi Dickerson of Manteo and Justin Taylor of Colorado; great-grandchildren Kenneth and Heidi Kitching, and sister, Virginia (Ronald) Ham. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends of whom she cherished and adored.
Betty spent her entire life in service of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Near the end, while in hospice care, she acquired such a comforting glow, as she knew where eternity would be spent.
This day, the one chosen for her final journey home, holds such a special meaning for our family. As it’s her sister Barbara’s heavenly birthday. No doubt, those who’ve gained their beautiful wings, are celebrating both life and death together. What a joyous reunion to have.
Betty’s family wishes to extend a huge “thank you” to Adoration Hospice. Such attention, care, and kindness – helped tremendously. Once again, you have helped send our loved one home.
Due to family illness and timing, a remembrance ceremony will take place in the spring. A private burial will be held at the Price – Scarborough Cemetery in Avon, NC.
