Sue Boyce Hampton

December 28, 2025

Sue Boyce Hampton, born on April 14, 1941 and a resident of Barco, NC passed away in the late hours of December 28, 2025 .   She was born to the late Guy L. Boyce and Wilba S. Martin, and preceded in death by her husband, Newton N. Hampton, sister, Mary Brown, and half-brother, Jeff Martin.

She is survived by her daughters, Frances E. Hampton of Maple, NC and Lisa H. Crawford and husband (Stephen)  of Garner, NC;  her son, D. Lindsey Hampton and wife (Michelle); grandchildren, Grace Hampton and Robert Anderson and family  of Perryton, TX and sister, Cherry Bracy and family of Raleigh, NC, and half-brother, Jack Martin of Jacksonville, NC.

Sue was born in Edenton, NC and throughout her childhood and early teens lived several places in NC and graduated from Nursing School in Elizabeth City, NC.  She met her husband during her nursing training and they began their lifelong commitment together in 1961 residing in Currituck County, NC. For the next 64 years she was a dedicated wife, mother of three, and full time homemaker. She was talented in so many areas of her life, nursing, cooking, canning and a great seamstress- you couldn’t put anything in front of her she couldn’t do.  Sue was devoted to being the supportive wife to her husband and taking care of her family. She will be missed by all her family and friends whose lives were touched by her.

In lieu of flowers the family would wish that donations be made to Coinjock Baptist Church of 193 Worth Guard Rd, Coinjock, NC 27923. A memorial service is planned for Saturday January 10, 2026 at 1 pm at Coinjock Baptist Church. Friends may greet the family in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.  Pastor Ethan Drum will officiate. Thank you all for your prayers and kind words.
