Alicia Marie Norton

December 20, 2025

It is with both deep sadness and heartfelt gratitude that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Alicia Marie Norton, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, and friend. Alicia passed peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the age of 54, after bravely enduring a long journey of chronic illness.

Born on February 15, 1971, in Elwood, Indiana, Alicia built a life rooted in love, faith, and service. She resided in Powells Point, Currituck County, with her devoted husband, living just down the road from her children and grandchildren. She was surrounded by those she loved most and was comfortable and at peace at the time of her passing.

Alicia was a steadfast believer in The Lord our God, never wavering in her faith through life’s trials and tribulations. Her life was anything but ordinary. She believed in kindness as a daily practice, laughter as medicine, and coffee as a basic human right. She raised her family with patience, humor, and a remarkable ability to turn even the most ordinary moments into lasting memories. Whether through stories that made us laugh until we cried or advice that blended wisdom with wit, Alicia made everyone feel seen, valued, and deeply loved.

A proud United States Navy veteran, Alicia served as a Diesel Mechanic and Corpsman, roles that reflected her strength, compassion, and dedication to others. She was also proudly over four years sober, a testament to her resilience and unwavering commitment to personal growth. Deeply involved in her community, she was an active member of a worldwide fellowship and cherished her large recovery family. Alicia always knew what to say or do when someone was in need. She was extraordinary – proud yet humble, selfless, and endlessly giving.

Alicia is survived by her loving husband, Charles Norton; her children, Brandon Little, Ashleigh Hewitt, Adina Wahl, Shannon Carawan, Brandon Wyatt, Shane Norton, and Cody Norton; and her cherished grandchildren, Brayden, Kylee, Raelynn, Jackson, Casper, Ruby, Jameson, Helena, Keke, JR, Star, Dade, Jasmine, Zalie, Austin, Brinsleigh, and Layna. She also leaves behind her great-grandson, Dakota, and her expectant great-granddaughter, Ivy Sue.

She is further survived by her loving parents, William and Trudy Kwalik; her brother, Christopher Kwalik (Steve Kwalik); and her sister, Wendy Harless (Scott Harless). Alicia had a beautifully expansive family, including many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, adopted children, dear friends, and her recovery family – all of whom will carry forward her lessons: love deeply, laugh often, and never underestimate the power of a good hug.

A celebration of Alicia’s life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Coquina Beach, Parking C, in Nags Head, North Carolina (27959). In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to do something kind for someone today—because that is exactly what Alicia would have wanted!

Friends and loved ones are invited to share expressions of sympathy with the family at gallopfuneralservices.com Gallop Funeral Services was entrusted with arrangements.
