Carly Deniece Pruitt
Carly Deniece Pruitt, 37, cherished daughter of Eric and Tonda Pruitt, sister of Catlin Pruitt, went to be with her Heavenly Father, November 23, 2025. Carly was predeceased by her grandparents, Freddie and Barbara Pruitt and Jim and Kit Eldreth.
Raised on the Outer Banks, NC, Carly attended Manteo High School through her sophomore year, graduating from First Flight High School in 2006. She excelled in both volleyball and basketball. She went on to play volleyball at the collegiate level and was named All American. She was an incredibly talented athlete and to watch her play on the court was truly awe-inspiring.
Carly graduated from Howard Community College in Maryland with a degree in dental assisting and radiology. In continuing her studies, she recently completed her Peer Support Specialist & Wellness Recovery Action Planning Certification through the Beloved Haven Organization. Her mentor, Stephanie Benton said, “she had an incredible gift for inspiring others that will be greatly missed by all.”
Left to cherish Carly’s memories are her parents, Eric and Tonda Pruitt; her brother, Catlin Pruitt (Kelly); nephews, Connor and Dominic; nieces, Emme and Camden; uncle Jimmy Estep (Lane); and cousins Beth, Kera, Amy and Grace. As well as her devoted friends, Maria Daniels, Megan Wunders and Stephanie Benton.

A celebration of Carly’s life will be held at a later date. Gallop Funeral Services in Nags Head has been entrusted with the arrangements. Friends and loved ones are invited to share expressions of sympathy with the family, at gallopfuneralservices.com.

Sending BIG hugs to Eric,Tonda,and Catlin during this tough time with Carly's passing. I had her in my weight-training class at Manteo and First Flight high schools and she was stronger than some of the boys in class and definitely much prettier. Ha! She will be sorely missed by all who knew her and it was a pleasure helping her become a better athlete. Carly is not gone but just not here!
Carly held a special place in my heart. She was such an incredible soul. She was inspirational and giving of her time and wisdom to everyone she met. My prayers are with you all. She will forever be remembered for the mark she made on this world.

Tonda, Eric, & Catlin, This has been devastating to our entire family. We sure did have great times and memories at the beach and on the court. We loved both of your kids as our own.
