Renee Crystal Lanning
Renee “Crystal” Lanning passed away November 9, 2025 at home after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Crystal was born on May 20, 1966 in Richmond, VA. She was preceded in death by her father Lee Lanning and her mother Rhea Ennis.
Crystal resided in the Outer Banks community for 40 years. She worked as a waitress for over 20 years and most recently as a house cleaner for Dust in the Wind. Crystal never met a stranger. She was a light in people’s lives and loved to sing and have a good time.
She is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Clay Beasley; two daughters, April Lee Lanning Woods and Tara Beasley (Kayla Thorne); two grandchildren, Ashton Woods and Silas Woods; and four sisters, Cindy Perkins, Candy Lanning, Shawn Ennis, and Sonja Lanning; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

She always thought of all others above herself and never complained of her own suffering and pain. I so look forward to the day I get to reunite with her and the rest of my family in heaven...
