Merriman Lynn Tolstick

Merriman Lynn Tolstick, age 62, passed away at Kitty Hawk, NC on September 22, 2025. Lynn as she was best known, was born September 30, 1962, in Rapid City, SD, having lived in Indiana, Florida, and Virginia. Lynn chose to make the Outer Banks her home in July of 1999.
She was an employee of Home Depot and in the past, Duck Woods Country Club. Lynn also owned and operated a small but successful landscape business for over 13 years. In addition to her professional achievements, Lynn was extremely involved in local charitable activities- primarily through the Interfaith Community Outreach (ICO) where she was a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer for many years.
Lynn is survived by her brother Nick Tolstick (Judy) of Gordo Alabama; two sisters, Sara Crow (Donnie) of Otterbein, IN and Signe Hobaugh (Jeff) Lafayette, IN; her four nieces Jessica Shepherd (Jarrett), Rebecca Beard (Jonny), Nicole Farnsworth (Ronnie), and Courtney Jeffrey (Keana); four nephews, Nick Tolstick (Tracy), Luke Hobaugh, Trenton Crow, and Ethan Crow; as well as numerous other relatives, extended family members friends and coworkers.
Friends and family will be gathering to celebrate Lynn’s life Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. Nags Head, NC Chapel from 12 pm to 2 pm. Please share a message of comfort at gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc, was entrusted with arrangements.

I’m very devastated I just saw this Lynn lived right around the corner from me she cut my grass some and I had worked with her a few years and she had such a sweet spirit I’m really just lost for words my heart goes out to this family rest in heavenly peace for we loved you but god loved you best

What a loss. With others I worked with Lynn on Wednesdays at ICO over the past three years. You saw her compassion for our clients every one of those days. She listened intently and never sought to judge, only to try and help. She represented the very best of what we do. I will miss her very much and especially that loud, husky laugh. My deepest sympathies to Lynn’s family. I just saw her after many years at our class reunion this past summer. We spent some time catching up and promised to keep in touch. This just makes me so sad.
I met Lynn working at Home Depot several years ago, but recently during the past year, we grew closer as friends. She new I really needed someone to rely on. She supported me and made me feel loved. I'm devastated!
Lynn was a very good friend of mine. She knew what friendship meant. She was so spirited and unselfish. Will miss you buddy.
