      Judith Catherine Doyle Owens

      August 18, 2026

Judith "Judy Booty" Catherine Doyle Owens, 73, of Harbinger, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of her family.

Judy was born on August 11, 1953, at the Naval Hospital in Chelsea, Massachusetts, to the late Sammy Carrol Doyle and Alice Josephine DeFrancisco Doyle. She grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School in Kingston. In her younger years, Judy was a talented athlete and an exceptional softball player. She also loved playing field hockey, and her competitive spirit and determination were qualities she carried with her throughout her life.

Judy shared 54 years of marriage with her husband, Woodrow Wilson Owens.

Above all else, Judy loved her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (Bambaw), great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had an especially treasured place in her heart for her great-grandson, Dawson Ray Montague, whom she lovingly referred to as "her beautiful baby boy." The love she had for him, and for all of her family, was immeasurable.

Judy was preceded in death by her father, Sammy Carrol Doyle; her mother, Alice Josephine DeFrancisco Doyle; and her beloved daughter, Misty Gayle Owens.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Woodrow Wilson Owens; her daughter, Heather Janicki and husband Brian; her grandson, Ethan Owens; her granddaughter, Allyson Montague and husband Morgan; and her great-grandson, Dawson Ray Montague. She is also survived by her siblings, Carol Doyle, Bobby Doyle, and Chad Doyle and wife Maryann, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In accordance with Judy's wishes, cremation will be honored. Her Celebration of Life will be held at BJ's Cafe in Jarvisburg September 19, 2026 at 3 pm. Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of a woman who was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Though her battle was long, Judy's life will be remembered not for the illness she endured, but for the love she gave, the family she cherished, the strength she carried, and the memories she leaves behind. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her love will remain with her family always. Please leave a message of comfort with the Owen’s family at gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services was entrusted with arrangements.
