Anne Stone Griffin
Anne Stone Griffin departed from her earthly life Friday, August 21, 2026 in Elizabeth City, NC. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Redford Stone. Anne is survived by her husband, Forrest Leigh Olsen of the Kill Devil Hills, N.C. residence, and her mother, Winifred “Winnie” Grizzard of Amelia County, Virginia.
Anne was born in Amelia County on April 14, 1959. After graduation from the Amelia public school system Anne was employed in various occupations. Eventually, she moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
She created her home in Kill Devil Hills where she sank her roots and lived happily in the local community. Anne loved the sun, the beach, her cats and her dachshunds. She cultivated many shared experiences with her neighbors. Anne would proudly speak of the importance of friends who enhanced her home and life.
Despite the severe medical problems that challenged her- Anne remained faithful to her core beliefs and took comfort from many of life’s gentle blessings. The family is grateful to her caring friends, Theresa and Tony Eubank and Barbara Franklin.
Anne’s personal directives for cremation will be honored. Final arrangements for the memorial service she planned are pending at this time. Anne and I worked together in banking years ago and we kept in touch over Facebook. I always enjoyed seeing her comments. She will be missed.

I hope Anne is at peace now. She fought a long, hard battle. But kept her sense of self though it out. Sorry for your loss Forrest.
