Teresa was born in Burlington, Vermont on April 3, 1930, the youngest of four children, to Emil and Florence Moore. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School and attended Trinity College in Burlington. Teresa married Fred W. Hawley on February 13, 1954 in Winooski, VT.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 46 years, brother Bernard Moore, and sisters Mary Margaret Audette and Elizabeth Fraser.
Teresa is survived by her four children, Bart Hawley (Karen) of Jackson, MI, Becky Nicholas (Ted) of Kitty Hawk, NC, Matthew Hawley (Tammy) of Woodbridge, VA and Marcie Warner (David) of Kitty Hawk, NC, along with grandchildren Andrew Hawley (Stephanie), Joseph Hawley (Katie), Kyle Dunigan (Erin), Sean Dunigan (John), Alexander Nicholas, Corey Hawley, Taylor Holden (Skylynn), Mary Margaret Warner, and Isabella Warner; great grandchildren Ella Hawley, James Hawley, Quinn Hawley, Levi Dunigan, Conor Dunigan, and Ashe Holden; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Teresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and loved spending time with her family. Condolences
Marcie and David, I am so sorry to hear about your mom’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
My heart is heavy however relieved by knowing my long standing friend and bridge partner is free of discomfort. Many years ago I gave Terry the nickname “Mary, Queen of No Trump” as it was without a doubt her favorite bid when she played. I will have her in my thoughts whenever I make that bid in the future. She acquired a host of friends here in the Outer Banks and I am honored to have had the pleasure to have spent so much time with her here, on the road, in countless hotels and crowded tournament rooms. I must say farewell and Terry would respond “okey-dokey”.💕
My beautiful Aunt Terry - I will never forget her. My mother’s little sister. The last of the Moore girls - the cool one. My godmother, and so much more. I send my profound sympathy to all her family and friends. Be assured that she lived a good life and served as a great example to all around her.
I feel very lucky to have gotten to know such an amazing woman growing up ❤️Sending lots of love and hugs to the whole family.
Terri had a great sense of humor. She always had a come back comment that cracked you up. We will miss her at the bridge table. We roomed together in Cambridge, Md at a bridge regional tournament where we both achieved our Life Masters. What a fun person and young 92!
What a wonderful blessed life your Mom lived, Bart & Karen & Family. Our condolences & prayers are with you!
Sorry to read of your mother’s passing. She is with the Lord and that is wonderful. Will be thinking of you all. I sure you will be sharing lots of memories with your family.
My heartfelt condolences to you and all of your families during this time.
I am so sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathy for all members of your family 👪
Bart and Karen, Dave and I extend our condolences to you and your family. It is SO hard to lose a parent--grieving, too, right now. May God comfort you. We are praying for you all!🙏
Sending heartfelt sympathy, love and prayers for peace as you bid farewell to your sweet Mom. Thinking of you all during this time and wishing your Mom eternal rest and reunion with your Dad and all her loved ones who have gone before her. God Bless you All. Su and Dave Lundberg
I will miss her greatly. She had an amazing sense of humor and was a wonderful person. When we first met her she asked my husband what his handicap was in golf - he told her and then she asked "do you cheat"? I almost fell out of my chair laughing - along with everyone else on the porch that day. Sorry for your loss but we know she is with her family in heaven now.
Michael and I loved your mother so much. We enjoyed having her in our home to play bridge during the pandemic. She keep us on stitches with her dry wit.we are heartbroken
To a wonderful friend and Bridge partner. I'll remember all the good times and fun we had together.
I have such fond memories of sitting at the bridge table with Terry. She was a lovely person and always had a pleasant smile and demeanor....which belied her ferocious competitive nature! I will always think of her shrugging and saying oh well....and pulling out the 3 No Trump card. And she'd make it. I will miss her a lot.
We are so sorry for your loss. Your mom was such wonderful person. Please accept our deepest condolences. Anne and Dick Hatin
Sharon and I have you and you family in our prayers as you navigate this difficult chapter of life.
